Jason Asher strives to help horses and humans excel together and take their horsemanship to the next level. Jason has been in the industry since 1996, graduating from Hocking College in 1997 with a degree in Back Country Horsemanship and Equine Science. In 2001, he graduated from the Kentucky Horse Shoeing college top of his class and has been a full time farrier since. He also offers clinics on the ground and in the saddle as well as a training program in a private facility. He continues to further his education while riding with Buck Brannaman each year along with attending virtual and online learning opportunities throughout the year.

Jason applies classical horsemanship methods learned from Buck Brannaman, Tom and Bill Dorrance, Ray Hunt, Martin Black, Pat Puckett among others. The classical horsemanship style always puts the horse first by having a “conversation” between the horse and human, never ever using a force method. This truly educates the horse making them well rounded, therefore, allowing them to perform to their best of ability. His training focuses on building a solid foundation on the ground using the classical methods to build upon one layer at a time to make the move into the saddle a seamless transition. This method works for horses from world champions of all disciplines to the pleasure horse. These horses, once they have a solid foundation, are able to be taken in any direction.

Located in Clarion, Pennsylvania, he offers foundation and horsemanship clinics at his facility or he will travel to yours. He also offers training and lessons with your own horse. He truly embraces the Vaquero “mañana” (spanish for what we don’t get done today, we get done tomorrow) with his horses.

Feel free to contact Jason to schedule a clinic in your area.
